Jason, the groom from one of my weddings in 2008 is the lead singer of the band High Flight Society. They were in need some some updated promo shots. All the member are from Cedartown, GA and wanted to do the shoot there. Cedartown has no shortage of interesting places to shoot and I was very pleased with how everything turned out.

Here are a few shots that I really loved:

in front of an old run down bus near downtown…

an old run down house/barn just off Hwy. 278…

a very cool field with planted pines and cedars in the background…

We ended the shoot doing some shots indoors. For you photographers out there, this last shot was done using an AB800 with a 60″ westcott umbrella. I also used an old skool Vivitar 285 located on the floor behind the band pointed towards the wall. This provided some separation between the wall and the band as well as nice looking gradient. I also diffused the light coming from the 285 with the bottom of a plastic milk jug. Yep, that’s how I roll. This was my third shoot for the guys in Ocean is Theory. We had a great time hiking through the woods and crossing a creek to get to the location I had chosen near Noonday Creek in Kennesaw, GA. They had just shot a video in the snow up north and wanted a “wintery” feel. I really loved these two shots.

I had the privilege of shooting the guys from the band Ocean is Theory about a week ago. I don’t really have to tell you that it was a fun shoot…you can tell that by the images. Everyone should definitely check them out.
