Greg and Lucille :: “what caught my eye” :: Wedding at Glendalough Manor :: + the engagement shoot!

I’ve really enjoyed getting to know Greg and Lucille. They are both super easy going and a joy to be around. Here are a few images that caught my eye from their beautiful wedding in Tyrone, GA.

I love how Greg is looking at Lucille while her father gives her away.

This shot is just after being pronounced husband and wife. This moment in time often provides some of my favorite images.

Next up is this gorgeous back-lit portrait.

I traveled out to the countryside in Brooks, GA for the engagement shoot. We shot for a bit near “downtown” and spent the remainder of the time at Greg and Lucille’s cute little country home nearby.

Greg and Lucille have the biggest oak tree I think I’ve ever seen. This shot doesn’t even do it justice.

Their dogs came out to play for a bit…

Stephen and Amy :: “what caught my eye” :: Wedding at Piedmont Church

I was so happy when Amy and Stephen chose me as their photographer. I grew up with Amy attending Piedmont Baptist (now just called Piedmont Church) in Marietta. I suppose Amy and her family have been friends of mine for my entire life and so it was a great honor to shoot her wedding. It was also neat to shoot at the church I grew up at. The looks of it have changed quite a bit over the years, but the memories I made there are always with me.

This first shot is of our Sunday-school class c.1988! We had all just received new Bibles!

Next up is this beautifully simple shot of Amy. Gorgeous.

Stephen and Amy spending a few quiet moments with one another after seeing each other for the first time. I shot this through a nearby window.

and surprise, surprise…an exit shot! This was the first time I’ve witnessed the groom carrying his bride out. Love it. Nicely done Stephen.

I’m sure this window is used by every photographer that shoots at Fernbank, but I still love this shot…

Stephen and Lindsay :: “what caught my eye” :: Wedding at Early Hill Plantation

Stephen and Lindsay’s early fall wedding was simply gorgeous – not a cloud in the blue sky. This was my second time shooting at Early Hill Plantation. The first time was for Matt and Anna’s wedding back in 2007. It’s a fabulous family owned and operated venue with tons of Southern charm. If you’re looking for a venue, I highly recommend it. Next up is a wide shot of the front of the house. Simple and vibrant.

I did a very similar shot to this next one the last time I was at Early Hill, so I couldn’t resist another shot under the massive Oak.

Ok…so everyone who follows my work should know by now that I love exit shots. These shots are usually the most challenging. I got a bit more motion blur than I usually like, but I think for this image it works and captures the moment beautifully.

So, this one might just be my new favorite exit shot. As I was walking backwards I got just a bit of motion blur on the bubbles. Add to this the light I placed behind them and the image has this amazing “warp speed” feel to it.

John Hill and Caroline :: “what caught my eye”

John Hill and Caroline’s ceremony took place at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church in Marietta with their incredible Atlanta skyline view reception at Ventanas near Centennial Park. The view from Ventanas has got to be the best view of the city. Simply amazing.

first up is this beautiful shot of Caroline having a moment to herself before walking down the isle…

I normally wouldn’t choose a ring shot for the sneak peek, but I love how Caroline’s ring fit perfectly inside John Hill’s ring…

So…Ventanas has a helipad. Amazing right? We of course took advantage of that and did a few portraits with the gorgeous city skyline as our backdrop. We were losing daylight FAST so I decided to bring out the light for this one. I did get a massive panoramic shot, but I’m still doing some work on it to get it looking its best. Fact: if John Hill and Caroline decide to do a print of the panoramic I shot it would be over 60″ wide with zero loss in quality. My second shooter Steven Wallace also did a panoramic shot after the sun had set, so I’m looking forward to seeing that one too.

Zach and Meredith :: “what caught my eye”

Earlier this week I traveled to Outer Banks, North Carolina for Zach and Meredith’s Memorial Day wedding. If you’ve never been to the Outer Banks you should definitely go. It’s so beautiful. Here are a few that caught my eye.

A few from Kyle and Annette’s Atlanta wedding…

I know I often choose this shot as one of the sneak peeks, but its always such a great moment seeing a couple *just* after saying I do.

What makes this next shot special??…the fact that just down the hill were thousands of people at the Atlanta Jazz Festival, and you’d never know it.

Kyle and Annette know how to party. They seriously had the floor of the Piedmont Room bouncing.
