Trip to Chicago for JD and Evie’s wedding!

By Personal Work, Travel 2 Comments

I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Chicago for Evie and JD’s wedding. I wanted to share a few images from the city as well as a few from the wedding that caught my eye. Special thanks to Kurt for coming along with me to second shoot.

Chicago is such a beautiful city. I don’t think I’d want to be there in the winter, but the spring sure was nice. Here is a view of the river with the train passing by and all the amazing buildings.

the city seal…

Kurt and I of course had to go to the top of the Sears tower….

Factoid: Chicago is the only city in North America in which 6 Class 1 railroads meet.

Lastly, a shot of my good friend Jake who was in town for the wedding in front of none other than Gino’s East. This was my first time having Chicago deep dish pizza and it was fantabulous.

This first shot is of Evie’s locket she wore the day of the wedding. Inside is a picture of her Dad who passed away a few years back. Evie’s aunt is holding it open so I can get the shot.

some of Evie’s creativeness…notice JD’s wooden ring!

Evie with her brother just as the doors to the chapel were opening…

lastly, a shot of Evie and JD just after being pronounced husband and wife! I’m not sure they could look any happier. These shots are often some of my favorite.

Steven and Amanda :: ‘what caught my eye’

By WCME One Comment

My choices for ‘what caught my eye’ are a bit different for this wedding. My good friend Steven has been my trusty sidekick and second shooter at most weddings I’ve shot for about the past two years. It was an interesting twist to actually be shooting *his* wedding. These first two images were a result of me walking in on him and one of the groomsmen getting ready. Its a normal thing with photo journalistic work to capture everything going on including the occasional shot of the groom in his boxers. However, when I walked in Steven has already gotten dressed. I made a sarcastic joke….”Man, I didn’t get a shot of you in your boxers!” He responds with, “Hey, not a problem” and drops em right there. Good times indeed. Steven: Love ya bro. Thanks for all your hard work over the years.

I chose this next image because Amanda’s expression. This was shot right after they were officially pronounced husband and wife. Amanda looks so content as if she is thinking, “Yep. Thats my man.”

Congratulations you two!!

If you live in Atlanta, chances are you’ve heard the voice of Mark Arum. More than likely you heard his voice on the ‘WSB 24-hour Traffic Center’ announcing that huge wreck on the connector that is going to absolutely ruin your day. Or, maybe he warned you in enough time to save the day!

Mark also has his own show. In Atlanta, The Mark Arum Show can be heard on Saturday nights from 7-9pm (eastern) on AM-750 or online at wsbradio.com. Or, if you’re in Connecticut you can listen Monday thru Friday from 6-8pm (eastern) on WSTC and WNLK. You should all check it out!

the main goal of our shoot was a great head shot…
