Had a great time shooting Matt and Courtney’s wedding. My 1st pick image was shot as Matt and Courtney were being announced at the start of their reception. This image has a simpleness to it that I really like. Behind me stood a crowd of their friends and family welcoming the new couple.
I had a great time hanging out with Cliff and Heather last week for their engagement shoot. Cliff is in the military and is stationed out of Columbus, GA. I met up with the two of them in downtown LaGrange, GA.
If you’ve never been to LaGrange, you should go. Its really beautiful. Now onto the images…

After we shot around downtown LaGrange, we went out to a area that is very special to me. Its near the little community of Odessadale where my family owns land. My ancestors settled the area in the 1820’s after migrating to Georgia from N. Carolina.

Just got back a bit ago from a preview showing of the soon to be released OneLight DVD. OneLight is the work of my good friend and colleague Zack Arias. Back in 2006 I attended Zack’s workshop and it totally changed the way I shoot. What Zack does with lighting is nothing short of amazing.
For all you photographers out there, trust me, this DVD will be money well spent. Check out the disc one trailer/montage below.

So this past memorial day, Bethany and I got together with our really good friends Dan and Anne Almasy. We grilled out and then had a photo-swap! Dan and Anne are both amazing photographers. I am a huge fan of their work.
Its such a blessing to have such great friends who are also photographers! They have imparted much wisdom to me concerning the photography biz and specifically wedding photography. You can check out their stellar work here and also see some shots they did of Bethany and I on their blog here.

Dan and I ripped the viewfinder off one of my old polaroid cameras and did some “through the lens” aka TTL shots. This is the result… Pretty cool huh?
Here is a shot of Anne. For you photographers out there…no, I didn’t do anything to Anne’s eyes. They really are that brilliant!

A couple weeks back, Bethany and I were invited to join our good friends Greg and Jessica in Gulf Shores for a little mini vacation. Jessica’s dad has a sweet condo there. It was a fabulous trip and good times were had by all.
I did a little photo shoot with Greg and Jessica at this really cool old military fort….

Had to do a jump shot of course…this is actually a very natural thing for Greg and Jessica

Greg and Jessica’s super cute little dog “Poopeye” came along on the trip. She got her very own photo shoot as well. Seriously, she *knew* she was having her picture taken.

On our last day there we all went to a wonderful little beignet shop. Bethany definitely enjoyed it!

So…I’m *completely* ripping off a great idea from my good friends Dan and Anne Almasy. Due to the fact that it takes several weeks of editing to roll out the final product, I’ll be doing these “first pick” posts from now. It will give everyone a glimpse of whats to come!

What a great wedding. Shelton and Christina were married in Columbus, GA at St. Anne Catholic Church. Their reception was held at the beautiful Columbus Convention and Trade Center.

Shelton and Christina had time between the ceremony and reception for a joy ride around town in the limo. I was able to get some stellar portraits. note: special thanks goes to my friend and colleague Marc Climie for discovering the spot for the grassy hill shot. Marc photographed Christina’s sister’s wedding in Columbus and was able to give me some pointers.

Andie, like countless other seniors every year, didn’t like the standard senior portraits that are offered through the school. So, we solved that problem and created some gorgeous images that beat those boring school photos hands down! Below are just a handful of my favorites from the shoot.

I had an incredible time with Matt and Emily the week before last. Their engagement shoot was on the beautiful Berry College campus. I absolutely love large open pastures and well manicured landscaping, so shooting at Berry was good times. I had a tough time selecting images for this post. There were so many great shots!
